Purpose:

For young adults between 21 to 35 years old who are looking for meaningful opportunities to live out their faith and values at work, with their family and friends, and in the world. In the Leadership Institute, we will explore and develop a variety of leadership skills, including:

  • Personal Strengths and Gifts
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Dialogue
  • Collaboration
  • Intercultural Competencies
  • Discernment
  • Prayer

Where:

All sessions, except the orientation and retreats, will be held at the Catholic Information Center in the Cathedral Square Building, at 360 Division Ave. S, Suite 2A, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

Cost:

$400 which includes all sessions and two retreats.  Scholarships are available and can be discussed during the application interview.

2018 Schedule: 

April 26: Orientation (6-8:30 pm)   An overview of the institute for potential participants with dinner provided.

May 11-12: Retreat (Called and Gifted)    Friday evening through Saturday afternoon. Explore your call to holiness, assess your strengths & gifts, listen to God’s call in your heart.

June 7: Seminar (5:30 – 8:30 pm)   Develop cross-cultural competencies & how to foster dialogue.  Potluck Dinner.

June 28: Social with Diocesan Staff    An evening social where participants can network with key staff who serve the Diocese of Grand Rapids.

July 12: Seminar (5:30 – 8:30 pm)  Practice skills for resolving conflicts. Potluck Dinner.

August 2: Social with Catholic Leaders of For-profit and Non-profit Organizations  Network with key Catholic leaders of for-profit and non-profit organizations from the West Michigan area.

August 23: Seminar (5:30 – 8:30 pm)  Foster communion within the Church.  Potluck Dinner.

September 14-15: Weekend Retreat (Leadership = Clarity +Commitment)   Friday evening through Saturday afternoon. Collaborate, build capacity, be inspired, make a difference for good.
