About Me
Mark-David Janus is a Paulist priest and a clinical psychologist who currently serves as director of the Catholic Information Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was born in upstate New York and graduated magna cum laude from St. John Fisher College. He entered the Paulist Fathers in 1974, received his masters degree in theology from Catholic University of America in 1978 and his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Connecticut in 1992.
He has authored numerous books, articles and professional presentations in children and adolescent psychology, focusing on the clinical assessment and treatment of trauma. He has particular interests in the inter-relationship between psychological science and faith. This interest is reflected in his current presentations on the role and influence of emotions and the spiritual life and the particular spiritual challenges experienced by people who suffer from depression and anxiety disorders.
An active preacher and leader in adult religious formation he currently directs the Paulist Mission of Evangelization, Reconciliations, Ecumenism and Interfaith dialogue in Western Michigan.
He enjoys cheering sports of all types and is an avid if aging golfer. He is also enthusiastic about the performing and visual arts.
