Director
John Geaney, CSP is Director of the Catholic Information Center and Rector of the Cathedral of St. Andrew. Born and raised in Malden, MA. Father Geaney was ordained a Paulist Father in 1964, and holds an MA in Theology from St. Paul's College, Washington, DC and an MA in Communications from UCLA. Fr. G has focused his apostolic life on communications, serving as a long time radio host and an award winning producer of several types of adult and children's television programming, talk shows, documentaries, and commercials. Fr. Geaney comes to Grand Rapids from Memphis, TN, where he served eight years as Pastor of St. Augustine Church. Previously, he was Priest Director of Catholic Relief Services, and President of Paulist Communications. Fr. G was also Director of Communications for the Archdiocese of Baltimore and a Chaplain at the University Catholic Center at UCLA. Father Geaney has a rich background in telecommunications work, an area of expertise that he will explore with us at the CIC as we launch into a deeper use of media. He has a heart for social justice and rich pastoral experience in parish settings.

Fr. Marcos is Associate Pastor of the Cathedral of St. Andrew and a presenter for the Catholic Information Center. He entered the Paulist community in 1984 and was ordained a Paulist Priest in 1990 after earning an M.A. in Theology from Catholic University in Washington D.C. He served in New York City for 17 years, first as an Associate at the Church of the Good Shepherd and St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Manhattan, then as Pastor to the Church of the Good Shepherd. Most recently Fr. Marcos served as Associate Pastor to the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Knoxville, TN. As a Paulist he has enjoyed working among Hispanics, the Irish and Eastern Europeans. His special interests and studies include Santeria and Voodoo, Christianity and the Fall of the Roman Empire, as well as Christianity and Greek Philosophy.

Ordained in 1958, he spent his first summer as a priest, serving at the Catholic Information Center! A life-long scholar, Fr. John has made sabbaticals at the Institut Catholique de Paris, the Catholic University of America in Washington, the Tantur Ecumenical Institute in Jerusalem, and the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. He has served as a professor, campus minister and parish pastor in various locations. He was director of the CIC from 1970-78 and returned to the staff in 2000. In 2008, Fr. John celebrated his 50Th anniversary of ordination and now serves in Senior Ministry status.

After ten years as a Benedictine Monk, Fr. Joachim joined the Paulist Fathers in 1972. In addition to his theological studies, he has an M.S. in Counseling and is a certified presenter of Centering Prayer. He has served in parishes, Newman centers and information centers, specializing in a variety of ministries with African Americans and Hispanics. He has traveled extensively in the Dominican Republic, participating in and leading over thirty evangelization, construction, and medical missions as well as founding and directing a Spanish language total immersion program in Santo Domingo, from 1985-1995.

Associate Director of Marketing and Publicity
Kelly's primary focus will be promoting and expanding the reach and impact of the CIC's evangelization and educational content. She will be responsible for communication strategy, branding, and messaging across various media outlets. Kelly has her BA in Communications from Michigan State University and formerly worked in customer relations at Steelcase.

Associate Director of Programming
Irene brings with her over 30 years of experience in business operations and was instrumental in the Catholic Information Center's move from its previous location on Ionia St. to its present location at 360 Division S. Irene received her MAT in Education from Aquinas College. She is responsible for the development, execution and follow up for all CIC evangelization and educational programming and special events. Irene will be contacting local and national speakers to provide for continuing adult formation education in Grand Rapids. She will be working with local Catholic parishes to determine their adult educational needs through the "On The Road" program. Irene is also responsible for designing CIC print material used for marketing and publicity. She oversees the maintenance of facilities and technology.
