Encore Institute: Advent – Singing of Hope, Peace, and Joy

Advent is a time of prayerful preparation, though as one of the shortest seasons in the Church’s liturgical year, it is often overshadowed by Christmas shopping and parties. This year can be different. While still experiencing the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, our world needs Advent more than ever. By exploring and singing the sacred hymns of Advent, we will learn how to prepare our hearts with the hope, peace, and joy this season offers. CFD: Spirituality ($10 donation suggested)

Matthew Jakubisin serves as the Director of Music and Organist at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Grand Rapids, MI. Before starting at the Cathedral in 2019, Matthew had worked in parish music ministries in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul/Minneapolis and the Archdiocese of Detroit.
