Evangelization
“Evangelization means carrying forth the good news to every sector of the human race so that by its strength it may enter the hearts of people, renewing the human race.”
- Pope Paul VI -
he Catholic Information Center joins the Paulists in looking at modern American life for signs of the presence of Jesus and the Holy Spirit in the world. “Catholics, from the Paulist perspective, have a unique vantage point. They do not despise the modern world, nor call people to some privatized inner emotional experience, nor try to create more division and conflict. Rather they try to proclaim a Gospel of inclusive mercy and love to a culture that already contains the seeds of that Gospel through the grace of Christ and the acting of the Spirit.”
he CIC community has three goals in Evangelization:
- To bring about in all of us such an enthusiasm for our faith that in living our faith we freely share it with others
- We wish to invite all people in the United States, from every social and cultural background to hear the good news of Jesus Christ, and join us, if they feel called, to join us in the fullness of the Catholic Faith
- The purpose of our Church is not to serve the needs of the members, but to serve others. We do this by fostering gospel values in our society, especially the dignity of the human person and family, and by working for the common good so that our nation may continue to be transformed by the saving power of Jesus Christ.
