The CIC has several original pieces of artwork, a Madonna and Child sculpture and four stained glass windows.
The Madonna and Child sculpture was created in 1987 for the CIC’s Chapel of St. Paul at its former location on Ionia Avenue, NW, in downtown Grand Rapids. The artist, David Wanner, of Wanner Studios in Wisconsin, cast, molded and framed this piece. This sculpture now graces the CIC cafe area.
The stained glass windows were removed from the Catholic Information Center?s Chapel of St. Paul when the Chapel closed in 2008. The stained glass was created by Mark Talaba, of Talaba Studios in Pennsylvania. The theme of the windows that graced the former chapel was ?the flow of continual peace.? We are pleased that these lovely stained glass pieces were remounted in various rooms of the new Catholic Information Center.
